Cali + Eric | Menomonie WI Engagement

Quick: name a couple you know with more joy spread across their face than Cali and Eric!!? I’m so sorry. Really.. I set you up for failure. But seriously, just look at them!! They are so incredibly happy together! 

Cali + Eric met while studying at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. This also happens to be where I met them! However, I left Menomonie with just a degree.. They totally left me out on the whole future hubby thing.. but maybe they’ll instead give me a break on my student loans?? A girl can dream. 

We circled back up, and I photographed these two joy filled people at the source of their relationship: Menomonie, WI. 

We spent the evening exploring the sights at Hoffman Hills, where we picked wild flowers that pair perfectly with C+E’s wedding palette..  next, a quick stop at the dorm that they lived in while attending school together. Last, we explored DT Menom, where we snagged a few pics outside of a monumental bar in Cali + Eric’s dating timeline (;

If there is one thing these two have mastered together, it’s how to make each other laugh.

We had such fun and spontaneous night chasing the warm, fall light to each location.

We had just finished what I thought was our “golden hour”. As we were driving through town, I saw a perfectly painted sky near Menomonie’s famous clock tower. I made the executive decision to construct our REAL golden hour finale right then and there. And quickly, before the colors were replaced with a dark, night sky. I had Eric pull his truck over and I assembled Cali and Eric across the street for our actual finale… which consisted of cotton candy skies overlooking Lake Menomin. Pretty charming end to our night if you ask me.

Three cheers to remembering warm, Fall days! The next time I photograph these two we’ll be sun-kissed and they’ll be wed!
